Rob Coles
Started cycling in 2007, at urging of friends, and soon joined the SCBTC.
Served as President from 2008-10, and 2016-19. Most grateful for support from committee members, and riders. Presidents come and go. As always, it is the ride reps and ride leaders who make this club what it is. They need to be encouraged and respected.
Times change. Not so long ago, we relied on home phone numbers, literally signed on to 'ride sheets', planned calendar rides about 4 months ahead, printed newsletters and calendars, stuffed hundreds of envelopes, and mailed them out every 3 months. Much work for some.
Enjoyed many cycling trips with club members. Memorable 2015 cycling along French canals, and in Italian/Austrian/Swiss Alps.

Stelvio Pass, Italy
Numerous MTB trips to NZ.

Maramataha Bridge NZ
Plus regular local cycling holidays.

Have always enjoyed peaceful riding in the countryside and tend to avoid the noise and danger of busy suburban roads.
In the words of Mark Twain, "Get a bicycle. You will not regret it, if you live."
